Mercy on a Dusty Road | At the Place of the Skull | The Fathers Will | Justice Met Love | Quiet Room | Parable of the Sower | What Must I Do

Mercy on a Dusty Road

His mercy met me on a dusty road that day
While the crowd stood silent with their rocks and shame
I was broken, I was guilty, I had nothing left to say
But love knelt beside me and called me by my name

They wanted to trap Him, and used me as a pawn
I needed Grace from them, but none was found
I never claimed to be an angel, I’ve done plenty wrong
They waited for His answer, but He didn’t make a sound
I was terrified, I felt every eye
Jesus bent over in the dirt and began to write
The hypocrites left, down the busy street
They dropped the stones that were meant for me
I looked toward Him, tears on my face
He spoke to me, sweet Words of Grace
Where are they, where did they go
Those exposing you for self-righteous show

His mercy met me on a dusty road that day
While the crowd stood silent with their rocks and shame
I was broken, I was guilty, I had nothing left to say
But love knelt beside me and called me by my name

I still hear those whispers when the night gets cold
All the names they called me still echo in my soul
But His eyes held a fire that the darkness couldn’t hide
And for the first time in my life I didn’t have to run and hide
He said “daughter keep on walking, leave your chains out in the sand”
And I felt forgiveness fall like rain from His hands

His mercy met me on a dusty road that day
While the crowd stood silent with their rocks and shame
I was broken, I was guilty, I had nothing left to say
But love knelt beside me and called me by my name

One by one those stones fell down
One by one that fear unwound
He could’ve turned away from me
But love stayed there and set me free

Jesus said in John 8 –
“Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.” When they all left Jesus said, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.”

Oh, His mercy met me on a dusty road that day
Where condemnation died and hope was born again
I was lost there in the silence till He rolled my shame away
Now I sing about the moment where my new life began
Yeah the Savior they were testing was reaching for my hand
And grace became a story only broken hearts understand

At the Place of the Skull
At the place of the skull — where I belong
A life so wicked, I knew it all along
How dark does a man have to be
To die nailed up for the world to see?
I crossed that line so long ago
And tonight I reap what I sow
One last rebellion, I joined the crowd mocking the King
But hanging there beside Him, God opened my eyes to see
Through blood and thorns and agony
Something changed inside of me
And somehow in His fading eyes
I saw the Author of Life
Jesus, please remember me
His reply changed eternity
While the whole world was waitin’
And my soul was breakin’
Nothing to offer
No good in me
Just a dying thief
Hanging on a tree
But mercy spoke louder
Than the nails, than the shame
And paradise opened
When I called His name
I didn’t know it then, but looking back now I can see
Those three crosses standing there were all humanity
One heart hardened in his pride
One surrendered at His side
And God was never losing ground
Redemption’s plan was written down
Hell was waiting for my soul
Justice claiming what I owed
But grace stepped in where I should fall
And love paid for it all
I was moments from forever lost
Condemned beneath my sin
But Christ opened up my eyes
And let a dead man live again
Jesus, please remember me
His reply changed eternity
While the whole world was waitin’
And my soul was breakin’
Nothing to offer
No good in me
Just a dying thief
Hanging on a tree
But mercy spoke louder
Than the nails, than the shame
And paradise opened
When I called His name
No songs of angels
No righteous crown
Just a broken sinner
Finally bowing down
The soldiers gambled
The sky turned dark
And with His final promise
He changed my heart
Jesus said in Luke 23: “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
Jesus, please remember me
His reply changed eternity
The King of Heaven, took my shame
At the place of the skull
Where everything changed

The Fathers Will

Not everyone goes down the narrow road
Lord, open my eyes to see where to go
The road is rough, the way is hard
Only traveled when He changes your heart
Believe in the One who the Father sent
Build your life on the rock, don’t ride the fence
Abide in the Vine so you can bear fruit
Seek His will, let the Word take root
Not by words alone, not by what you claim
But by a life that glorifies His name

I just wanna do Your will, Lord, not my own
Walk the narrow road wherever it may go
Not just say Your name, but do what You say
With a faithful heart every day
If it costs me all, I’ll answer You still
All my life, Lord—I just wanna do Your will

Shape me, Lord, I surrender all
I mourn my sin, let Your mercy fall
Kill the pride, let gentleness grow
Pure in heart, let mercy show
Persecuted not only for doing right
But also reviled for my witness for Christ
Loving my enemies, the needy, the lost
Living for Christ no matter the cost

I just wanna do Your will, Lord, not my own
Walk the narrow road wherever it may go
Not just say Your name, but do what You say
With a faithful heart every day
If it costs me all, I’ll answer You still
All my life, Lord—I just wanna do Your will

Your secret life is where rewards will come
Pray, fast, and give for the glory of One
Don’t be anxious for needs, trust only in Him
Surrendering to Christ is where freedom begins
Don’t be angry, bitter, or unforgiving at all
Hunger for righteousness, that is the call
Guard my eyes, my tongue, my heart
Trust in You when it gets dark
When the world says bend, I’ll stand my ground
At the foot of the Cross is where salvation is found

Jesus said in Mathhew 7
Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord”, will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in Heaven.”

I just wanna do Your will, Lord, not my own
Walk the narrow road wherever it may go
Not just say Your name, but do what You say
With a faithful heart every day
If it costs me all, I’ll answer You still
All my life, Lord—I just wanna do Your will

No room for pride, no righteous show
Just broken hearts that the Savior knows

Gentle hands, a quiet soul
Self-control when the fire rolls
Hungry for what’s pure and right
Be a peacemaker in the fight
First comes faith in the risen Son
The One the Father sent for everyone
Then abide in Him, let your branches grow
Bear good fruit so the world will know
Not chasing crowns or the praise of men
But lifting His name again and again
Take every thought, bring it into line
With a heart surrendered, soul refined
Build it on the Rock, let the storms roll in
Wind may howl but it won’t give in
Not my will, Lord, but Yours I choose
Got nothing to gain, got nothing to lose
I’ll walk in faith, not just talk the talk
Plant my roots deep down in the Rock
Love my enemies, help the weak
Turn the other cheek when they speak
Do my giving where no one sees
Pray and fast down on my knees
Guard my eyes, my tongue, my heart
Trust in You when it’s hard and dark
When the world says bend, I’ll stand my ground
Even when the heat comes crashing down
Build it on the Rock, let the storms roll in
Wind may howl but it won’t give in
Not my will, Lord, but Yours I choose
Got nothing to gain, got nothing to lose
I’ll walk in faith, not just talk the talk
Plant my roots deep down in the Rock
When I face that day and the trumpet sounds
Hope I hear Him say above the clouds
“You walked My will, you stayed the course—
Welcome home, My faithful one.”*

Justice Met Love

A man hits a mile marker somewhere in life
Starts wonderin’ if he’s been wrong the whole time
Bein’ a man means facin’ the truth
Wonderin’ where you go when this life’s through
Jesus preached, man must change his mind
Too often pride steps in – keeping him blind
“Why change my mind, change in what way?”
Just two things to consider today
God is Holy, that’s where our problem begins
He is also Just – and can’t wink at sin
Sin his severe, His Wrath is deserved
Judgement will stand, it’s what we have earned

Don’t harden your heart, don’t look away
Truth is calling you today
Grace was written in His blood
Mercy flowing like a flood
From the cross where justice met love
Wrath was poured, but not on us

Don’t make me the enemy cuz I say what’s real
Warning through love- that’s the appeal
Reality is, if your mind hasn’t changed
Redemption’s plan will still sound strange
If you see your problem, and concerned for your life
That’s the humility needed to step into the Light
Eyes are opened, you see healing in Him
By the Grace of God, you can be born again
Trust in Jesus to save from Wrath to come
His Blood was shed, the work is done

Don’t harden your heart, don’t look away
Truth is calling you today
Grace was written in His blood
Mercy flowing like a flood
From the cross where justice met love
Wrath was poured, but not on us

Jesus said in John 3 –
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

Don’t harden your heart, don’t look away
Truth is calling you today
Grace was written in His blood
Mercy flowing like a flood
From the cross where justice met love
Wrath was poured, but not on us

Quiet Room

No need to stand where eyes can see me
You’re not impressed in words for show
I’m calling to You from the secret place
That’s where You hear me, this I know
Not in echoes, not in crowds
Not in noise that fills the air
But behind the closed door softly
You are waiting for me there
Pre-Chorus
You don’t need my many phrases
You can hear my faintest cry
Before a word is on my lips, Lord
You already know my mind

In the quiet room, I find You
Not in show, but deep inside
Where my broken heart is open
And I’ve got no place to hide
Teach me how to pray with meekness
Not with pride or empty sound
In the quiet room, my Father
That’s where grace is always found

Like the one who stood afar off
Couldn’t lift his head from shame
“Lord have mercy on me a sinner”
was all that he could say

Not the voice that boasts of goodness
But the one that bows in need
That’s the prayer that reaches heaven
That’s the one You hear and see

Spirit’s willing, flesh is failing
I can’t trust my strength alone
So I watch and pray in weakness
Thankful to boldly approach Your Throne

In the quiet room, I find You
Not in show, but deep inside
Where my broken heart is open
And I’ve got no place to hide
Teach me how to pray with meekness
Not with pride or empty sound
In the quiet room, my Father
That’s where grace is always found

From the depths I cry like Jonah
From the dark, I call Your name
In the valley of the shadow
Still Your presence stays the same
Rod and staff, they guide and hold me
When my heart begins to stray
“Make me clean and lead me onward”
Every single step I pray
Teach me, Lord, Your ways of truth
Keep me back from hidden sin
Write Your law upon my heart
Make me new again within

In the quiet room, I meet You
Where Your mercy falls like rain
You restore what has been broken
You revive my soul again
Not by words that try to impress You
But a child who simply comes
In the quiet room, my Father
Your will and mine are one

Jesus said in Matthew 6 – When you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

Teach me how to pray with meekness
Not with pride or empty sound
In the quiet room, my Father
That’s where grace is always found

Parable of the Sower

Jesus sat in a boat, while they listened from the beach
He spoke in parables, that’s the way He’d teach
With gentleness, true and deep
But not everybody would receive
They didn’t know why He talked this way
But prophecy was fulfilled that day,
Secrets of heaven aren’t for every man,
The Way of Life most don’t understand

Some eyes are open, some stay closed,
Some hear the truth but never get close…

It’s seeds on the path, sown a different way,
Some snatched away, some try to stay
The cares of this world start to take hold
Persecution arises and hearts grow cold
Let it sink down deep, on fertile ground
Rooted in Christ, where salvation’s found
The heart that is honest, the heart that is good
A heart that’s been changed, as only He could

Some seed fell hard on a beaten path,
Got snatched away before it could last,
Some sprang up quick, on rocky ground,
But the sun burned hot, no fruit was found.
Some got tangled in the thorny vines,
Choked by worry and dollar signs,
But somewhere in that changed heart,
That seed took root and made its start.

If you’re gonna grow, ya gonna bear fruit,
Persevere by the Spirit, let the Word take root…

It’s seed in good soil, it’s the Word in the soul,
Gotta find that ground where the roots can hold,
Some hear it all day, but it won’t take hold
Persecution arises and hearts grow cold
Let it sink down deep, let it take control,
Rain’s gonna come, make your spirit grow—

Prophets longed to see what you now see,
Christ walking through your streets,
Blessed are the ones who hear and know,
Who let that seed down deep below.
Turn your heart to Jesus, be a fruitful branch,
Don’t let the devil deceive, don’t lose your chance

Don’t let it fade when the trials come,
Don’t let the world make your spirit numb,
Hold on tight when the storms roll in—
Trust in His Word, rooted in Him…

It’s a seed on the wind, it’s life in the soul,
An upright heart, where faith takes hold,
Hearing His Word, more precious than gold,
Be the light of Christ in a world gone cold.

Jesus said in Luke 8 verses 11 to 15
The seed is the word of God. The ones along the path are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. And the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. But these have no root; they believe for a while, and in time of testing fall away. And as for what fell among the thorns, they are those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature. As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience.

It’s a seed on the wind, it’s life in the soul,
An upright heart, where faith takes hold,
Hearing His Word, more precious than gold,
Be the light of Christ in a world gone cold.

What Must I Do

A man came running down the road
Fell to his knees, he wanted to know
“Good Teacher, tell me what is right—
What must I do to gain eternal life?”
“You know the Law, what does it say?
Words given to Moses long before today”
“I’ve kept them all, I’ve done my part”
Jesus didn’t argue, just exposed his heart
Lay it all down, then come follow Me
But his love for wealth he wouldn’t flee

Eyes of love, and words so clear
“One thing you lack is standing here”

Perfection’s needed to get you home
But you’re not perfect, and you’re not alone
A standard none can satisfy
No matter how much we strive,
What must we do for eternal life?
The only Way is to trust in Christ!

It’s not always money, we all have our thing
Something stands between us and the King
Lay it all down, don’t be like this man
Who clung to his throne and went away sad
Knew there was life, and wanted to know how
But opted instead for the here and now
Chains of gold, yet poor inside
Thought the cost too great, Christ was denied

What a sad story, but what if that’s us
Is there something we won’t give up
Chorus
Perfection’s needed to get you home
But you’re not perfect, and you’re not alone
A standard none can satisfy
No matter how much we strive,
What must we do for eternal life?
The only Way is to trust in Christ!

Jesus said in Mark 10 – “Children, how difficult it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” And they were exceedingly astonished, and said to him, “Then who CAN be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.”

Impossible with human hands
But God fulfills what He commands
So we believe, not strive in vain—
In Christ alone, eternal gain
What must we do? The answer stands:
Trust in the finished work of the Son of Man.
