John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
- “To the Father” is another way of saying, “to Heaven”
- There is a “WAY” to Heaven, and there is only ONE WAY – and that way is through Jesus
- There is “TRUTH” that leads to Eternal Life, and that Truth and Life is through Jesus
- The Truth is, our sin disqualifies us from Eternal Life, and instead has earned us eternal death, which is an actual existence in a place of torment, not ceasing to exist
- The other part of the Truth is, if we recognize the reality and consequence of our sin, we can trust in Jesus alone to save us and cleanse us from our sin and we will inherit Eternal Life -this is called Redemption
- You know this redemption has truly happened when Regeneration has happened
- Regeneration is what Jesus refers to as being Born Again, he who is in Christ is a new creation – meaning we transition from loving our sin to hating our sin, and we desire to, and begin to walk in God’s Way according to His statutes
