- The Law says, “do ALL of this perfectly, 100% of the time, and you will be in good standing with God and have Eternal Life
- The problem is, none of us have kept the Law perfectly; therefore, we are not in good standing with God
- Then man worsened his situation by developing his own “laws”, his own rituals, his own rules and regulations as a means to get right with God. (This is what you have in the man mad religions of the world – they are all a lie)
Therefore, whatever “LAW” you are following: whether you are trying to keep God’s Law (the Ten Commandments) perfectly; OR some man made religious law – either way it is a curse because neither can save you.
Why?
- God’s Law has NEVER been kept perfectly (save One)
- Man’s laws (religions) never could save you
That is the curse!
The purpose of the Law of God is to bring about the knowledge of sin. It is to break the sinner’s heart, leaving them helpless, and hopeless. The Law is to leave a man in a puddle of shame, asking “what must I do?” In that brokenness and shame the Gracious Hand of Christ reaches down, lifts you up and says, “trust in Me, I will cleanse you of all your sin, you will be my child, I alone can forgive your sin and give you Eternal Life because I paid your debt, I bore your sin on the Cross to deliver you from the Wrath to come.”
Only Christ can redeem us from the curse of the Law.
Romans 3:19-20 Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God. 20 For by works of the law no human being will be justified in His sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.
Galatians 3:13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”—
